Custom Closets

As you consider purchasing a SpaceManager Custom Closet, this cost and pricing guide will help you develop an initial budget and plan for the costs associated with each type of project.

Costs of Custom Closets

A few things to Consider

Custom closet and custom storage systems come in different shapes, sizes and styles to suit any budget.  They are built to fit the exact dimensions of  your space. Compared to DIY type closets that are built to standard dimensions. When considering a custom closet – the key factors that affect costs are below.

Choice of finish

Most closet manufacturers categorize finishes into different groups / levels. Choosing finishes from higher levels will increase the closet cost.

solid colors, wood grain non textured.  Look like wood, but they are flat. in general

textured

gloss more expensive, matte (not shiny)

Height & Depth of  system

Custom closets are typically built to 84″ (7ft), 96″(8ft), 108″ (9ft) or 120″ (10ft). At SpaceManager we have built closets from floor to ceiling up to 144″ (12ft).

Most closets are built to 12″ up to 24″. 12″ is the minimum depth to support standard hangers; if you plan to enclose your clothes behind doors you will need to be at 24″ deep. The deeper you go the higher the cost

Accessories/features included

Closet accessories are additional items you add to closets to increase functionality of the closet such as jewelry drawers, laundry hampers, mirrors, molding, lighting etc. One of the reasons a lot of people go for custom closets vs DIY closets is to be able to include closet features/accessories to “spice up” their closet. Your choice of accessories will increase your project cost.

Door / Drawer style

More decorative door styles such as Traditional, Shaker, aluminum framed doors, glass insert doors will increase your project cost compared to flat style doors. However flat style doors are gaining popularity due to their modern clean look and feel.
