Let’s face it; nothing ever comes good from stressing. Cleaning your home can sometimes be a daunting task, especially if you haven’t done a deep clean in a while. Attempting to tidy up two to three times a week, will help keep your space from disarray and will not seem like a big deal if everything is pretty much in its place. A quick sweep of the floor or a run of the vacuum once or twice a week will go a long way.
Start One Room at a Time
Starting one room in your home at a time will eliminate the pressure of being overwhelmed. Start in your kitchen by clearing off unnecessary things that seem to accumulate on the countertops and wipe them down. You now have a nice open surface to clear out your refrigerator. Check dates on condiments and threw away expired items and don’t forget to get rid of old seasoning and spices as well.
Donate. Donate. Donate. That sweater that you wore in high school but haven’t been able to wear in years deserves a new home since you are no longer wearing it. Items that are lightly worn that you no longer wear are perfect for donating and will add more space into your closet and drawers. The best part about donating is that you some places allow you to donate more than clothes. That bike that your kid no longer rides because it is too little for them deserves a new home and would make someone else so happy.
Take Your Time
Remember cleaning your home is a marathon and not a sprint. If you take your time to tidy your home daily, the process of cleaning your home won’t be so intimidating.
